Resumo

The experiments conducted over vertical and paralleled disks and horizontal cylinders with circular fins have shown that, as far as heat transfer is concerned, parallel disks work in the same way as parallel plates, and a correlation has been formulated in this regard. In heat transferring, the horizontal cylinder with comparatively high fins behaves as parallel disks with the same relation between Nusselt numbers and modified Rayleigh numbers, because the flat surfaces of the fins can play a predominant role. While, as the height of fins decreases, the relation approaches to that of the horizontal cylinder. Correlation formulae on cylinders with fins have been obtained for both of the above cases.
