要約

The fullness rate of the horizontal liquid nature gas (LNG) tank has a significant effect on its inner thermal response during the lossless storage and transportation. Therefore, based on a 250 m3 horizontal LNG tank, a 2D numerical model was established in FLUENT to investigate the lossless storage and transportation processes under various initial fullness rates. The volume of fluid (VOF) method in combination with user define source terms was employed to describe the gas-liquid two-phase turbulent flow happened in the tank, meanwhile, the physical parameters were estimated by polynomial fitting. Simulated The lossless storage and transportation processes using nitrogen and contrast with the experimental data, validated the model. With this model, the time-dependent temperature, velocity and pressure distributions were obtained for different tank fullness rates in the LNG tank. It is found that the fullness rate has a certain degree of impact on the lossless storage and transportation patterns and there is an optimal fullness rate to keep the pressure increment rate minimum, which will extend the storage time and ensure the safety of storage and transportation.
