NUMERICAL MODELLING OF A THERMAL DIFFUSION PROCESS BY COUPLING A DETAILED MODEL AND A REDUCED ONE

This paper deals with the modelling of a thermal diffusion process obtained by coupling a classical detailed model and a reduced one. This last one is given by an identification method. In order to make the connection between both models, the coupling fluxes at the common boundary are pointed out.
A 2D diffusive application is shown : a detailed model of order 100 is associated to a identified reduced model of order 3. It is also shown the coupling between two reduced models. The results are compared to the one obtained with a model describing the whole system of order 200.
