CYCLICAL HEAT CONDUCTION IN MELTING AND FREEZING OF COMPOSITE SLABS OF DIFFERENT PHASE CHANGE MATERIALS
要約
A one-dimensional finite element phase change heat
conduction model is developed for alternate melting and
freezing in a composite slab which is composed of several
different immiscible PCMs subjected to cyclical thermal
boundary conditions. Investigations are carried out about
the effects of melting-point difference and boundary
temperature on the charge/discharge rates of thermal energy
and about the dynamic performance of the charge and
discharge processes. Numerical experiments discover that
the charge/discharge rates of thermal energy can be
enhanced in composite PCM slabs compared with in single
PCM slabs during the cyclical melting/freezing processes.
