Discontinuous wall temperature distribution induced gas flow in an enclosure at high Knudsen numbers
要約
A steady flow of a rarefied gas, caused by a discontinuous temperature distribution of the enclosure wall is
investigated using the direct simulation Monte Carlo method. The gas is confined in a two-dimensional square
enclosure. External forces are assumed to be absent. Two sets of boundary conditions are considered where the
temperature is discontinuous at the vertical middle wall points and at the two diametrically opposite corners
respectively. The steady flow of the gas is induced in the enclosure by the effect of the discontinuity for both
cases.
