要約

Flow regime and pressure drop studies were made with a 0.0254 m hydraulic diameter horizontal annulus under simulated adiabatic and diabatic boiling flow conditions. A low pressure transparent test section was used to create simulated uniform, sine and saddle axial heat flux profiles by means of porous tube injection of the vapour phase. Diabatic flow regimes were found to be different from corresponding adiabatic regimes for the air-oil fluid system used in the study. The major difference being the lack of any diabatic intermittent regime. Diabatic frictional and acce1erationa1 pressure drop components were separated using adiabatic frictional data and also by using simple models for the acceleration component. Results indicate a mass velocity and quality dependent increase in diabatic over adiabatic frictional pressure drop due to diabatic vapour injection.
