要約

A theoretical design investigation of annular finned tube air-cooled heat exchangers is presented. The calculations determine the temperature distribution and heat flowrate through seven types of high fin tubes, allowing for the non-uniformity of the fin side heat transfer coefficient. The results are compared with those based on present design methods in which a uniform heat transfer coefficient is assumed on the finned side of the tube. Significant differences (up to 400 percent) are found between these two calculations. The results also show that a reduction in air side velocity does not necessarily decrease the duty of the heat exchanger.
