要約

A technique is proposed for reducing the number of repetitious solutions required to carry out a conventional parametric study of a theoretical problem. The technique utilizes latin-square experimental design plans, and is applicable to a particular class of heat transfer problems which involve the numerical solution of differential equations. An applicability criterion is presented, along with a method for predicting the errors which might be expected if a problem does not satisfy the criterion exactly. The proposed technique is applied to a periodic flow heat exchanger, which is representative of the type of problem to which the analysis appears to afford the greatest potential.
