Résumé

Upward heating pipe flows of four different fluids are investigated using direct numerical simulation (DNS). The inlet thermal conditions, dimensions of the pipes, heat flux and inlet mass flow rate of the four cases are chosen to ensure that the dimensionless heat flux and inlet enthalpy, Froude number, ratio of length to diameter and inlet Reynolds number are the same in each of the simulations. The dimensionless results of the DNS simulations have shown good similarities. Synchronous laminarization and recovery behaviors have been observed in all the four cases. One point for discussion is that the cases have different values of Peclect number which appears in the dimensionless energy equation. This difference results in somewhat different temperature fields and thermal properties fields between the different cases. However the DNS result shows that this difference not seem to have a strong impact on the similarity between the heat transfer behaviors in different cases.
