Résumé

Present study investigated the effect of fin pitch on thermal performance of fin-tube heat exchanger with plain and louver fin under frosting condition. Test were performed at standard frosting condition (air temperature of 2?, absolute humidity of 3.66 g/kgDA), high frosting condition (air temperature of 0.5?, absolute humidity of 3.71 g/kgDA), with coolant temperature from -10? and -15?. Test parameters were fin pitch from 1.2 to 1.5mm and fin type of plain and louver fins. Heat transfer rates for the heat exchanger with plain fin with fin pitch of 1.5mm and louver fin with the fin pitch of 1.3mm showed average 5% higher than the other fin pitch conditions. Pressure drops for the heat exchanger with louver fin with narrow fin pitch were larger than those with plain fin and wide fin pitch. The smaller fin pitch was, the higher pressure drop was shown. Heat exchanger with the fin pitch of 1.5mm showed the best thermal performance over the whole fin pitch ranges for both plain and louver fins. Overall heat transfer coefficients for the heat exchanger with fin pitch of 1.5mm were larger by maximum 10% than those with other fin pitches at both SFC and HFC conditions. Overall heat transfer coefficients of louvered fin were decreased more than those of plain fin.
