Résumé

In the present work, the effects of reactor wall temperature and gasifying agent during the sugarcane bagasse gasification process in a lab-scale fluidized bed reactor are numerically investigated. The MFIX (Multiphase Flow with Interphase eXchanges) open code is used with an Eulerian multiphase approach in a twodimensional Cartesian domain. The wall temperature affects the reactor bed temperature which has a significant influence on the reaction mechanisms and on the pyrolysis stage of the gasifying process. Besides, the gasifying agent is important in controlling the raw composition for a specified syngas end-use application. The sugarcane bagasse gasification process with oxygen enriched air, steam enriched air and oxygen and steam mixture for two different wall temperatures are studied. In all cases, the same oxygen mass flow rate is considered, thus isolating the influences of N2 and steam on the gasification process. Results show the distribution of the principal gases produced along the gasifier. As expected, when mixtures of steam and oxygen are used as gasifying agent, the highest values of syngas H2/CO ratio and Low Heating Value are obtained. Results also show that gasification using air and oxygen enriched air as gasifying agents produces syngas with the H2/CO ratio smaller than unity. The gasification process using air as the gasifying agent produces the smallest amount of syngas, while the air with steam addition case produces with the smallest Low Heating Value.
