Résumé

This paper investigated single-phase flow across the abrupt expansion and contraction in mini channels. The experimental results on pressure drop with a novel measurement method, the tiny gaps on the channels, were used to characterize the minor losses coefficients for tube diameters from 0.330 to 0.580 mm and over a Reynolds number range from 733 to 7941 in the smaller tube. De-ionized water and nitrogen were used as working fluids. Some differences on the expansion and contraction loss coefficients compared with the experimental results of conventional tubes and theoretical prediction were found through current experimental research.
