The prediction for the nonlinear trend of subcooled water flow boiling CHFs for outlet subcoolings in horizontal heated tubes with helically coiled wires were investigated using existing CHF database obtained for 12 mm inside diameter and 50 mm length tubes with the coiled wires having the diameter of 1.0 mm with various coil pitches of 12, 24 and 36 mm for a flow velocity of 7 m/s at outlet pressures of 0.2, 0.3 and 1.1 MPa, based on the correlations recently derived for subcooled water flow boiling CHFs in through tubes with various geometries for the wide ranges of outlet subcooling, outlet pressure, and flow velocity. The trend of the CHFs for outlet subcoolings were compared with those in the same diameter tubes without and with a twisted tape of twist ratio of 2.
