Résumé

The flow and thermal characteristics for the interactions of natural convection and radiation in an enclosure containing circular ducts are analyzed numerically. The grid system is created numerically by using the body-fitted coordinate system. Finite volume method (FVM) which is developed to solve the radiative transfer equation for arbitrary shaped domain is adopted for numerical calculations. The working fluid is an absorbing, emitting, and isotropically scattering medium. The flow and thermal fields arc investigated for the variation of various parameters such as scattering albedo and optical thickness. The test problem is compared with exact solutions and discrete ordinates method(DOM) solutions. The results show that the FVM is an effective method to predict radiative heat transfer processes in irregular geometries.
