EFFECTS OF A CUSP MAGNETIC FIELD ON THERMAL WAVE INDUCED BY COUPLING OF NATURAL CONVECTION WITH ROTATING FLOW IN CZOCHRALSKI CRYSTAL GROWTH
Résumé
Experimental results are presented on the oscillatory
convection induced by coupling of natural convection with
rotating flow in a Czochralski configuration for crystal
growth under an imposed cusp shaped magnetic field. A
traveling thermal wave turns into a standing wave under
a cusp magnetic field depending on the magnitude of the
relevant flow similarity parameters and the melt aspect ratios. A flow regime diagram is presented for the existence of the traveling and standing waves.
