INTERPHASE MATTER TRANSFER, THE CONDENSATION COEFFICIENT AND DROPWISE CONDENSATION
Résumé
The paper reviews early as well as some of the more recent
theoretical studies of interphase matter transfer during
evaporation and condensation. This is important in the fields of dropwise condensation, which has experienced a recent resurgence of interest, and condensation of metals. Dropwise condensation theory is also reviewed and a minor modification incorporated to take account of developments in interphase matter transfer theory. Calculated heat-transfer coefficients for dropwise condensation of steam over a range of pressures are provided to permit ready comparison with experiment and for use in design.
