Résumé

An analytical method of solution, utilising Galerkin's weighted residue process, is presented for the solution of a mixed boundary value problem in heat conduction. This method has been applied to the problem of the circular annular constriction at the end of a long cylinder. The results of the mathematical analysis show excellent agreement with the experimental results obtained from an electrolytic tank analogue.
