Résumé

The term chaos has received much attention in the recent years, both in the general public and the scientific community. In many cases the use of the concepts connected with deterministic chaos has provided deeper understanding of the physical systems. In most cases the actual physical systems treated were relatively simple. For two-phase flow systems the work has so far been mostly theoretical. Experimental results on such flows in the context of chaos research are still scarce. With the development of powerful noise reduction techniques suited to preserve the signatures of chaos in the data it has now become possible to obtain useful results for the complex problem of boiling flow in a vertical evaporator tube.
This paper focuses on describing the process of reconstructing an attractor from experimental data in a natural circulation boiling loop. Results will be compared to numerical predictions by other authors.
