Résumé

Based on a two − dimensional mathematical model, the flow, heat and mass transfer processes in a natural − draft cooling tower are numerically-investigated by finite difference method . The governing equations are formulated in cylindrical coordinates. The two − dimensional distributions of velocity, enthalpy, moisture content of the moist air and the water temperature are predicted . The predicted temperatures for cold water are in good agreement with the field test data. Although the present study is conducted at unifom conditions, the mathematical model can easily take account of the effects of non-uniformities at special operating conditions.
