COMBINED RADIATION-CONVECTION-CONDUCTION HEAT TRANSFER IN TRANSPARENT INSULATION
Résumé
A general theoretical method was developed to
describe the heat transfer characteristics of transparent
insulation made of capillary tubes in honeycomb
structure. The mathematical model is based on a heat
transfer analysis including radiation (separated into short-and
long-wave spectra), conduction and mixed forced and
natural convection. An iterative numerical procedure was
prepared to solve the non-linear conservation equations for
obtaining the temperature field. An application to solar air
heater is presented here. The effects of optical properties,
geometry and operating conditions on the collector
performance (efficiency and outlet temperature) are
discussed and compared to our recent experimental results.
