HEAT TRANSFER AND FLUID DYNAMICS OVER A TRANSVERSE CYLINDER NEAR A FLAT SURFACE
Résumé
The report presents experimental results on the heat transfer and fluid dynamics in flows of air over a transverse cylinder located near a flat screen surface. The test cylinder was located at the distance from the leading edge of the screen x/d equal to 0.6 or 8.1, and the distance from the flat surface was varied from 0 to 2.0. The range of Re from 1.5·104 to 1.05·105 was covered. Each measurement was repeated with and without a separating plate in the wake and a trip wire preceding the cylinder. Free stream turbulence Tu was from 0.3 to 0.4 %.
The following parameters were measured: circumferential local heat transfer coefficients, circumferential pressure distribution, average heat transfer, fluid dynamic forces, Strouhal number at variable h/d, x/d and Re.
