Résumé

Local heat transfer and static pressure measurements from cylinders rotating about a normal axis and in the presence of a cross air stream are reported in this paper. Miniature foil heat flux sensors and capacitance type differential pressure transducer have been used in conjunction with an instrument cum power slip ring apparatus. The experimental conditions were varied such that the rotational Reynolds number(Rem)covered a range of 6000 to 50000 and the crossflow Reynolds number (Rec) was from 10000 to 26700. A correlation has been derived for average values of Nusselt number on the base of resultant velocity; Nu = 0.585 ReR0.533
