Résumé

Macroscopic volumetric averaging of momentum and energy transport equations leads to generalized transport equations involving surface integrals over the microscopic fluid-solid interfaces. Pore-scale mean geometric models of isotropic porous structures have been successfully introduced to derive explicit expressions for the momentum transport integrals in terms of two basic parameters of the porous medium, namely porosity and a characteristic microscopic length. In this paper a similar approach to heat transfer between the porous matrix and a traversing fluid is discussed. The availability of such an explicit equation for thermal energy will enhance the analytical and computational capabilities for heat transfer research in porous media.
