ENTROPY-BASED HEAT TRANSFER POTENTIALS - FORCED CONVECTION SINGLE-PHASE FLOW APPLICATIONS
Résumé
Several different entropy-based heat transfer "driving -forces" introduced in [1,2] that avoid the limitations of the thermodynamically incomplete conventional temperature potential are reviewed, with special emphasis on forced convection heat exchangers. In contrast to earlier publications on second law potentials, high relative temperature differential applications are considered in the present paper. Theoretical predictions are compared with recognized empirical and/or analytical data [3] to demonstrate the validity of the proposed thermodynamic analytical methods. The paper concludes with a brief assessment of the value of modern thermodynamic tools in the solution of heat, mass [4, 5], and fluid flow engineering problems.
