AN ANALYSIS FOR FREE CONVECTIVE HEAT TRANSFER TO SUPERCRITICAL FLUIDS
Résumé
Laminar free convection from a heated vertical plate having uniform surface temperature
is studied for supercritical fluids close to the transposed critical point. The variation
of physical properties are evaluated by enthalpy and they are taken into account by a perturbation
method. A decline in the heat transfer coefficient occurs temporarily when the wall
temperature is at the transposed critical point. It is shown, regardless of the variation of
pressure and distinction of such fluid as water and carbon-dioxide, that predicting of heat
transfer using the physical properties specified by reference enthalpy is likely to be successful.
