TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE TRANSIENTS NEAR THE HEATING SURFACE DURING NUCLEATE POOL BOILING OF SATURATED WATER
Résumé
Experimental studies of nucleate pool boiling of saturated water at subatmospheric pressure have provided information on temperature and pressure transients within the liquid near the heating surface. On the evidence of the records of temperature transients in end near the superheated layer, the hypotheses of "wave disturbance", "bubble disturbance" and "induced disturbance" are postulated. An analytical expression for the form of the pressure transients in liquid near a growing bubble is presented and it is claimed that sufficient experimental evidence is available to confirm the existence of pressure transients.
