CURRENT AERODYNAMIC HEATING PROBLEMS WITH FIRST ORDER SHAPE CHANGE EFFECTS
Résumé
A review is given of current aerodynamic heating problems encountered in re-entry vehicle design which involve first-order shape change effects. Included in this review are: (1) nosetips, (2) nosetip - frustum material discontinuity, and (3) recovery spoilers. In each case, examples of the coupling between aerodynamic heating and its associated shape change are presented.
