NATURAL CONVECTION IN A HORIZONTAL LAYER OF TWO DIFFERENT FLUIDS WITH INTERNAL HEAT SOURCES
Résumé
The natural convection in a rectangular channel filled with two unmixable fluids of different physical properties was investigated numerically. A computer code was developed based on a finite different method integrating the conservation laws for mass momentum and energy. This code was applied to two general cases. In the first one initially the lighter fluid lies in a layer at the bottom of the cavity while in the second one a layer of the heavier fluid lies at the bottom. In the calculations it was assumed that always the heavier fluid contains internal heat sources.
