HEAT TRANSFER IN THE TURBULENT SWIRLING FLOW IN A CHANNEL OF COMPLEX SHAPE
Résumé
The problem of heat transfer in turbulent swirling flow in channels formed by densely packed twisted tube bundles of oval cross-section is considered. A flow moves around this tube bundles. The following models are presented: a flow model using the concept of wall layer characteristic
thickness; a model of temperature and velocity fields taking account of mixing at azimuthal inhomogeneities of
heat input; the data for these fields; the explanation of heat transfer and transverse mixing intensification mechanisms; a model for the calculation of heat transfer and hydraulic resistance taking account of velocity cross component. In the region of fully-developed turbulence, the heat transfer coefficient increases at the relative swirling pitches greater than 10÷12, to the same agree as the hydraulic resistance does, in comparision with a circular tube.
