Résumé

Experiments on heat transfer for upward boiling flow inside tubes were made under subcooled and saturated boiling. The experimental data were treated on the basis of the concept that the heat transfer process consists of the two components due to boiling and forced convection.
The present paper proposes a consistent method for treating the whole region from subcooled to saturated boiling, in which vapor voidage existing even in the subcooled region is taken into account for determining the component of forced convection. The method proposed is also constructed with due consideration for the boiling suppression caused by the increase in forced convection, and the critical steam quality at the transition to the post-dryout region.
