Résumé

The paper presents the analysis of the influence of droplets coalescence upon the intensivity of dropwise condensation. During experimental investigations by means of high-speed camera, the growth, coalescence and the position of newly created droplet were observed. That allowed to establish the geometry of the cell to be used in further investigations. Time dependent energy equation was solved in the cell, giving the droplet growth rate. The results were compared with the case, when heat inertia of the wall is negligible /i.e. the droplet grows only as a result of vapour condensation on it/. In the numerical simulation of the condensation process the droplets coalescence was taken into account. The results were compared with the case, when the effect of droplets coalescence was neglected. The resulted heat transfer coefficients differed of about 10 %.
