POOL BOILING HEAT TRANSFER FROM CYLINDRICAL HEATER TO MERCURY UNDER MAGNETIC FIELD
Résumé
Experimental results are presented on the pool boiling heat transfer from both a horizontal and a vertical cylindrical heater to pure mercury in the presence of horizontal magnetic field. As the magnetic flux density β is increased, the incipient boiling heat flux is lowered, but the incipient boiling wall superheat is affected little. The boiling heat transfer coefficient a for a horizontal heater varies along the periphery of heater surface : αβ = 0<α β≠0 at the bottom and the side, but αβ = 0>α β≠0 at the top. The burnout heat flux qcri is lowered with increasing the magnetic flux density. A correlation of qcri for β=0 is also presented.
