THE EFFECT OF THE DISSOLVED GAS CONTENT UPON INCIPIENT BOILING SUPERHEATS
Résumé
The effect of dissolved gas on the incipient boiling superheat were obtained with electrically heated wires (0.05, 0.1 mmØ) immersed in water under reduced pressure conditions (0.05 -1.0 bar). The dissolved air content in water was fixed by boiling deaeration (0-4 ppm) and was measured by Winkler's method. The surface temperature of the wire was determined by its electric resistance. The experimental results demonstrate the effect of the dissolved gas content and agree very well with calculated curves, even though the data showed some dispersion.
