UNSTEADY-STATE HEAT CONDUCTION IN A TWO PHASE, TWO DIMENSIONAL SOLID DOMAIN
Résumé
Unsteady-state heat conduction in a two phase, two dimensional case was examined experimentally and numerically. The model consisted of aluminum
bars dispersed in a continuous domain of foamed polyurethane. A unit step function change in flux was applied at the input face, while the output
face was held a constant temperature. Time integrals measured at various points in the model were compared with time integrals calculated using alternating direction implicit, successive over relaxation, and variational numerical evaluation.
