Résumé

Pyroelectric thermometers have two important and unusual characteristics: they are the most sensitive detectors of thermal energy known today, and they wi11 respond either to an absolute temperature change or to a rate of temperature change. Parameters representing thermometer sensitivity and resolving power are calculated for several pyroelectric materials. Rates of temperature change as small as 4m°K/sec and temperature changes as small as 6μ°K were measured with pyroelectric thermometers, and even greater resolution is predicted by theory.
