Sinopsis

In the present study, seven titanium corrugated tubes (22.2 mm O.D and 0.5 mm tube thickness) having a range of corrugation pitch (from 6.4 mm to 22.1 mm) and corrugation depth (0.2 mm to 0.6 mm) were tested at the steam pressures (from 5 kPa to10 kPa) of an actual electric utility condenser. For the present range of corrugation geometry, the condensation heat transfer coefficient increases as corrugation pitch and corrugation depth decreases. The maximum heat transfer coefficient was obtained for the tube having 6.4 mm corrugation pitch and 0.2 mm corrugation depth. The enhancement ranged 57% to 75%. Mehta and Raja Rao [27] correlation predicted the present data within ±15%.
