LATTICE BOLTZMANN SIMULATION OF HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER DURING SOIL FREEZING WITH THE CONSIDERING OF PRE-MELTED FILM
Sinopsis
In this paper, a mesoscopic numerical model for the simulation of soil freezing is presented, the developed model takes the consideration of the premelted water film. By using the developed model, particular volumetric water content variations were formed during the soil freezing process, the volumetric water content decreased gradually with temperature after freezing point. What's more, we also presented the simulation results of soil freezing for different temperature gradients and particle size distributions. Simulation results shown that liquid water
content variations significantly affected by the temperature gradient and particle size distribution. So, the pre-melted water film can't be ignored for accurately describing
the characteristic of soil freezing process in numerical simulations.
