Application of an Integrated CFD Model to Aluminum Nanoparticle Production
Sinopsis
A model has been developed to assist the design and operation of an inductively coupled plasma (ICP) reactor for the production of aluminum nanoparticles. The model describes the r.f. inductively coupled plasma torch flow, as well as the injection and evaporation of microparticules precursors and the further nucleation and growth of the nanoparticles from the phase. The multiple physical phenomena involved in the process are described with a unique numerical 3D grid using a fully integrated model. The critical importance of the flow, temperature, vapor concentration patterns on the nucleation and growth of the nanoparticles are shown.
