Sinopsis

The high-temperature radiative properties of Ni-Cr and cordierite porous plates are experimentally determined. An emittance-fitting method is proposed and utilized to obtain the albedos and the asymmetry factors of the phase functions of these porous materials in the temperature range from 390K to 980K. The extinction coefficients are determined at room temperature using a light transmission technique with diffuse scattering correction. The obtained radiative properties are compared with the theoretical predictions based on our cubic unit cell model for the radiative properties of open-cellular porous materials. Comparison is also made for other available experimental results.
