Sinopsis

A turbulent flow in a boundary layer with hydrogen injection through a penetrable wall to the main air stream was simulated in the work presented. To calculate the turbulent characteristics, the Lam and Bremhorst's modification of the k-ε model was used. Calculations were made with consideration of Lewis number (Le)different or equal to unity. While calculating the concentrations of combustion products and temperature, the assumption about the chemical equilibrium was used. The use of multistage kinetic reactions for hydrogen combustion in air does not make any difference in simulation results. The obtained distribution of the turbulent fluctuations allows the authors to conclude that laminarization of flow during the combustion takes place. The use of Le≠1 changes the position of the flame front and provides a closer correlation with experimental data.
