Sinopsis

Transient phenomena in subcooled liquid under sharp increase of heat input are considered. It is revealed that due to formation and destruction of the vapor envelope around the heat input element the pressure waves of shock type in the annular channel occurs. The specific structure of the pressure waves is identified experimentally and is explained theoretically.
