Sinopsis

A new theoretical model for predicting the forced convective boiling heat transfer coefficients for binary mixtures is presented. For forced convection vaporization, heat and mass transfer are taken into account within the liquid film and the vapor. For nucleate flow boiling, the published correlations for pool boiling are adopted. The predicted heat transfer coefficients are compared with experimental data, which are obtained for R22-R114 mixtures in a horizontal tube 8mm ID and 4m long. The predictive method is correct within an accuracy of 30%.
