Sinopsis

The paper presents the new experimental data on heat transfer of subcooled water swirl flow under onesided heating. At mass fluxes G=4000÷8800 kg/(m2s) single-phase convection is the predominant heat transfer mechanism up to heat fluxes as high as 5−7 MW/m2. The single-phase convection experimental data are described rather exactly by the Petukhov et al equation with the Lopina and Bergles correction factor and with the proper choosing the reference temperature for liquid viscosity. The nucleate boiling at the experiments occurs at the wall superheats as high as ΔTs=100÷130 K, the corresponding heat fluxes being 30−60 MW/m2. The predicting equation for nucleate boiling heat transfer at one-sided heating under high flow velocities and high liquid subcoolings has been proposed.
