Sinopsis

In this study we analyse the convective heat transfer in a periodic section channel obtained by a flat plate periodically heated facing an adiabatic wavy wall. We are particularly interested by the effects of the geometrical parameters on the steady and unsteady convective heat transfer in a fully developed dynamic and thermal condition. For that purpose we solve numerically the steady Navier Stokes and Energy equations by a Galerkin approach using Chebychev basis functions and trigonometric polynomials. Then the linear stability analysis leads to the critical Reynolds number and the perturbation's shape. Basically for a steady flow we confirm that the heat transfer enhancement corresponds to the maximum heat flux position, associated with the minimum section. Moreover for the unsteady exchange we should have an enhancement for the local heat transfer in the converging region due to the boundary layer destabilisation.
