Sinopsis

In this paper, a simple model that allows to give an approximation of the thermal contact resistance (T.C.R) for a solid-solid contact showing several levels of defects (flatness, roughness, …) and including therefore several scales in the constriction of the flux lines, is presented. The elementary thermal contact is modeled using three intrinsic resistances (interstitial fluid resistance, resistance of asperities, constriction resistance). A double constriction model is first considered and is then extended to the case of a surface that exhibits defects with a periodic distribution and an auto-similar structure. Finally, the effect of the interstitial fluid is studied.
