Sinopsis

Experimental tests were conducted for cylindrical plate of stainless steel of 10.5cm diameter and 2.5 cm thickness heated to 900C. Different mass fluxes, orientations and spray angles were covered. Data from 25 tests is deduced using direct and inverse conduction numerical schemes. The local mass flux of water is in the range of 1.5-6.6 kg/m2.sec. It has been found that the heat flux is primarily dependent upon the local mass flux. Other spray parameters play less role. Effects of mass fluxes on the minimum heat flux, Maximum heat flux, Leidenfrost and critical temperatures are presented.
