Sinopsis

A finite difference analysis of transient temperature field in anisotropic solids is proposed. The anisotropic field is converted to the isotropic field and the heat flux at the boundary is equivalently modified. Finite difference solution following the author's method of solution of required accuracy in the isotropic field is applied to the convert ed isotropic field. The experimental results of temperature variation in two-dimensional piled paper and anisotropic multi-crystalline carbon agree well with the difference solution by the method presented here.
