NATURAL CONVECTION OF POWER LAW FLUIDS FROM A VERTICAL PLATE WITH UNIFORM SURFACE HEAT FLUX
Sinopsis
A similarity Solution of the laminar boundary-layer equations for natural convection of power-law non-Newtonian fluids having high Prandtl numbers from a vertical plate
with uniform surface heat flux has been obtained. The results are found in good agreement with available experimental and numerical data: the theory is expected to be valid when pr>lO. Heat transfer results of Tien derived from the integral method are found to be about 4−15% too high. It is also shown that the results for Nu based on (Tw−T∞)L/2 may be used to correlate the data for a uniform wall temperature plate.
