Sinopsis

The analysis of experimental data on steam condensation in an annular duct or a circular tube at wide ranges of pressures, mass velocities and steam qualities, has revealed the effect of steam flow on heat transfer to the condensate film. It is demonstrated that within a considerably wide range of mass velocities and steam qualities, there can be observed an increase in the heat transfer rate as compared to the case when the condensate flows down the wall in a duct filled by motionless steam. The influence of steam stream on the condensate film thickness is evaluated. The applicability of available methods for evaluating the heat transfer coefficients at the condensation of steam streaming in a duct is also considered.
