Sinopsis

We have undertaken to show theoretically and experimentally that extracting the mean value of a periodic thermic power source is possible. So we have set up and tested in laboratory a reduced time and space scale device simulating the behaviour of an autonomous plant for an ideal situation (regular day-light alternation). The thermal storage unit serve to damp down the fluid temperature oscillations at the exit. The air flowing regime spread on a Reynolds scale from 1 500 to 8 000. The working periods range from 1/4 to 3 hours. As the storage unit constitutes the main part of the loop we shall deal essentially with the properties of its transfer function. At last we indicate some experimental results about the loop acting as a power filter.
